Nothing like being a little behind, but better late than never they say. So finally sharing my image that made a two page spread in the January issue of Dog Fancy Magazine (check out page 32). It’s so much fun seeing this image in print and having it shared with so many. The article is about Avalanche Rescue dogs and I was lucky enough to shoot one of the best dogs and teams at the time at beautiful Sundance Resort in Utah. Mick is the amazing dog and Tracy is his handler. The image was originally shot for my Park City-DogTown, USA book but keeps getting more mileage. Thanks to DogFancy magazine for the nice spread and thanks to my great models Mick and Tracy for making the moment!

I was recently fortunate to spend some time on the California coast north of San Diego. During my stay I connected with another photographer I met at a workshop a couple of years back; Jen, the owner of Fetchlight Photography and her adorable dog Tawny.  Meeting them was a great excuse to play with my new camera that had been gathering dust.  I didn’t have any time to plan or prepare  so we just met and worked with the situation at hand on a grey afternoon.  The plus side was the beach was empty with the lack of sun. This kept Tawny happy as she wasn’t keen on sharing the beach with anyone else with four legs, so I could have a chance at gaining her attention.  Tawny’s so photogenic and so is her mom, and clearly also both great runners!

I had a great time visiting the California beaches and a fun time working with both Jen & Tawny.
